On 4th February 2022, World Cancer Awareness Day, Dr. Priyanka Rathod, Consultant Cancer Surgeon at MJ Hospital, Latur, actively participated in an awareness program alongside IMA President Dr. Surekha Kale, IMA Secretary Dr. Hanumant Kinikar, and Dr. Ajay Punpale. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Vaishalitai Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Dr. Rathod delivered an impactful talk on gynecological malignancies, emphasizing the crucial role of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer. The session also highlighted breast cancer awareness, and saw enthusiastic participation from women in rural areas. She expressed her gratitude to Dr. Sarika Deshmukh, Dr. Jaiswal, and Dr. Meera for their support in making the event meaningful and impactful.
