Dr. Priyanka Rathod, Consultant Cancer Surgeon at MJ Hospital, Latur, was invited to speak at an Oral Cancer Workshop organized in association with the National Oral Health Programme under the Civil Surgeon, Latur. The event was held on 8th February 2024 at the Civil Surgeon’s Office and Women’s Hospital, Latur, and highlighted critical awareness and training in oral cancer care.
Dr. Rathod delivered insightful lectures on the causes and prevalence of oral cancers in Maharashtra, biopsy techniques with video demonstrations, treatment methods, and palliative care including hospice services. The academic session was followed by hands-on training in oral cancer biopsy for maxillofacial surgeons and members of the dental association. She expressed gratitude to Dr. Arun Balkunde, Dr. Dhele, and the organizing teams for their support and coordination in making the workshop a success.
